Darien began to pace the small clearing. She watched him walk back and forth, watched how his long, lean muscles rippled as he walked, and how a lock of hair fell over his forehead as he concentrated.

He was like rich, silken chocolate for the eyes. She had sex only a few times with occasional humans she had come across, but it had never been very satisfying. She turned to see the last man on earth she’d expected.
